Additional medicine distribution window to prioritize certain treatments initiated at Eliza hospital in Kamchatka.
In an effort to address long queues and improve access to subsidized medications, the Governor of Kamchatka Krai has tasked Victoria Sivak, the region's Deputy responsible for healthcare, with organizing the opening of a second window for dispensing subsidized drugs.
The initiative for the additional drug window comes from residents of the Elizovsky Municipal District, who have brought the issue of long queues to the governor's attention during meetings. The regional head has emphasized that ensuring regional residents' access to medications is one of the key priorities.
Currently, only one window is operating at the hospital, resulting in long queues where residents spend several hours. To alleviate this problem, a second window for subsidized drugs is planned to open at the Elizovsky District Hospital.
A regional subsidy of over 120 million rubles has been allocated to medical institutions to expedite the fulfillment of prescriptions for subsidized drugs. This allocation is aimed at ensuring no delays in the delivery of subsidized drugs to patients.
In addition to the physical drug windows, a chatbot has been launched recently for residents of Kamchatka Krai to obtain information about subsidized drug provision. Queries through the chatbot are answered by employees of the regional Ministry of Health.
The regional head has acknowledged that they still maintain a formal bureaucratic approach in their interactions with residents. However, they have stressed the importance of adhering to an approach that prioritizes convenience in drug distribution, given the large size of the Elizovsky District and the long distances people travel.
While details about the operational meeting's agenda were not provided, the regional head mentioned an expansion of the meeting. The name of the deputy health minister in Kamtschatka Krai responsible for organizing the opening of the second window for the allocation of subsidized medicines at the Elizovsky district clinic remains undisclosed.
Despite these challenges, the regional head remains committed to improving the healthcare system in Kamchatka Krai and ensuring that all residents have easy and timely access to essential medications.
