AGiL's 'Verschaftsruts' endeavor marked its 15th milestone of operation
In the heart of Kassel, the Berufspatenprojekt, a project dedicated to providing professional expertise and life experience to young and disadvantaged individuals, celebrated its 15th anniversary. Initiated in 2006, the project has been funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration since 2011.
The Berufspatenprojekt has made significant strides in supporting young people, often with migration or refugee backgrounds, from school to work. The project has been instrumental in conducting mock interviews with over 3,300 students since 2010, in collaboration with ten general and vocational schools in the city.
The demand for these mock interviews is on the rise, with 400 students participating in such trainings this year alone. The project leaders are seeking more volunteers, preferably with a background in crafts or health and care, to support the project with their engagement and professional experience.
Volunteers play a crucial role in the Berufspatenprojekt, serving as door openers, companions, and advisors in both professional and personal developments. They have made it their mission to navigate young people through their professional world. First Deputy District Administrator Silke Engler praised the volunteers for their passion, life experience, openness, and empathy.
André Franke, CEO of AGiL (Arbeitsförderungsgesellschaft), emphasized the diversity of the volunteer role in the Berufspatenprojekt. The volunteers not only assist with application letters, finding internships or apprenticeships, but also participate in 'Fit for Job Interviews' trainings.
The current 45 volunteers were honoured at a small celebration at the Sandershaus in Kassel. Around 300 mentorships, known as 'tandems', have been realized since 2008. For more information about volunteering for the Berufspatenprojekt, please contact project coordinator Brigitte Vogler at phone: 0561-1003 1275 or email: [email protected].
The search results do not provide the name of the project coordinator of the Berufspaten project of the Arbeitsförderungsgesellschaft reachable at the aforementioned email address. However, it is clear that the Berufspatenprojekt continues to make a significant impact in the lives of young and disadvantaged individuals in Kassel, and the community is grateful for the tireless efforts, patience, and dedication of its volunteers.
