Awqaf Dubai's Educational Endowments Surpass AED472M, Benefiting Thousands of Students
Awqaf Dubai, the emirate's Department of Education and Minors' Trust Foundation, has seen significant growth in its educational endowments. The most recent contribution, valued at AED20 million, was made by an Emirati philanthropist in 2024. The foundation's assets now stand at AED472 million, benefiting 16 educational institutions and thousands of students.
Awqaf Dubai's journey began in 2017 with its first educational endowment, a AED25 million donation from an Emirati woman. Since then, the foundation has expanded its portfolio to include 51 assets, comprising 23 real estate holdings and 28 financial endowments. In 2024, the foundation disbursed AED5.3 million in scholarships, supporting 2,079 students.
The foundation's Secretary-General, Ali Al Mutawa, highlighted the foundation's commitment to providing equitable access to quality education, aligning with the UAE leadership's vision. He noted that these efforts contribute to the UAE National Agenda and the Year of Community campaign.
Awqaf Dubai's endowment funds empower students to pursue professional paths and contribute to a sustainable society. With assets reaching AED472 million in 2025, the foundation continues to strengthen educational opportunities across the emirate.
