Prepare to meet the trailblazers of the 2024-2025 Bureau of Land Management Greening STEM Grant! 🌱🧪

Say hello to a fantabulous collaboration between the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)! Since 2020, they've been buddying up to fund Greening STEM Demonstration Projects for middle and high school students, using NEEF's Greening STEM model to rock STEM education at BLM field sites nationwide. 🙌🏎️

The goal? Offer students a shot at authentic STEM experiences drenched in environmental engagement and BLM's mission to preserve the beauty of public lands for generations to come. 🌱🌍⚛️

These grants bring STEM goodness to educators and staff, helping them beef up learning both in and outside the classroom, with a stern focus on BLM-centric topics. 🧠

  1. The partnership between the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) aims to expose students to authentic STEM experiences that integrate environmental engagement and the preservation of public lands.
  2. The Greening STEM Demonstration Projects, fundable through the grants, are a joint initiative between NEEF and BLM, aimed at boosting STEM education at various BLM field sites across the nation.
  3. As part of this collaboration, educators and staff are provided with resources to strengthen learning, with an emphasis on topics related to BLM and its mission.
  4. The projects not only enrich in-classroom learning but also offer opportunities for student growth outside of the classroom, within the context of BLM-focused subjects.
  5. With the help of citizen science, the collaboration encourages community engagement and participation in environmental restoration efforts on these public lands.
  6. This integrated approach to environmental education and STEM offers students an opportunity for hands-on learning, expanding their knowledge in environmental-science, education-and-self-development, and STEM-education.
  7. The online-education resources created as part of these projects provide students with the means to continue learning even beyond the field sites, further broadening their understanding and appreciation for the environment.
  8. Through educational activities addressing water quality, habitat restoration, and other conservation concerns, the grants serve to foster a sense of stewardship among students, reinforcing the importance of protecting and preserving public lands for future generations.
