Solingen, Germany, is set to welcome several new kindergartens next year as part of its ongoing efforts to address local demographic needs. The Mülheimer Wohnungsbau eG (MWB) has taken on its first project in the city with the construction of a new kindergarten on Höher Straße.

The new kindergarten, scheduled to open in autumn 2025, will have an additional group and a usable area of 1355 square meters. It will offer 112 places for children, with 27 spots reserved for those under three years and 85 for children over three years. The MWB secured the contract for the project through a tender.

The city of Solingen operates 18 of the 96 kindergartens in the city area, and the new kindergarten on Höher Straße is one of the largest in the city. Other facilities from the expansion plan, including the kindergarten Burg, the kindergarten Kleeblatt on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße, and the kindergarten at the clinic, are also expected to be completed next year.

The kindergarten at the clinic is scheduled to open in summer 2025, offering space for four new groups. However, details about the capacity or the operator of the new kindergartens mentioned in this paragraph are not yet available.

The kindergarten Pinocchio 4 is also set to start in summer 2025 with two more groups. The Löwenzahn kindergarten on Margaretenstraße is scheduled to open with three additional groups in spring 2025.
