Changes in Altai region schools starting September 1st

Starting from September 1st, 2025, schools in Altai Krai will adopt a unified lesson schedule, marking a significant change in the region's educational system. This shift was confirmed in official announcements, but no alterations to the schedule have been reported as of yet.

The academic year will commence on September 1st and conclude on May 26th, following a traditional school calendar. The new schedule aims to provide a more structured and uniform learning experience for all students, regardless of where they attend school.

As part of the changes, students entering the 10th grade will be required to choose a profile. This decision will shape their educational journey, guiding them towards specific areas of focus.

In addition, students must select at least two subjects to study in-depth, even within the universal profile. This requirement encourages a more specialised approach to learning, allowing students to delve deeper into their areas of interest.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the new educational policy is the abolishment of enrollment restrictions based on a child's place of residence. This means that students from different parts of Altai Krai will have the opportunity to attend schools outside their immediate locality, fostering a more diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Natalia Polosina, head of the general education and assessment procedures department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Altai Krai, has emphasised the importance of ensuring that all children in the region are accounted for. She also highlighted the commitment to providing individual support for those who frequently miss or do not attend educational institutions.

As always, it's essential to stay informed about any potential changes to the school schedule. For the most accurate information, it's recommended to check official Altai Krai educational department announcements or local government communications directly.

Education-and-self-development opportunities will be expanded with the new schedule, allowing students to specialise in at least two subjects in-depth. The new policy also promotes regional diversity by abolishing enrollment restrictions based on a child's place of residence, fostering a more inclusive education-and-self-development environment.
