Cisco Launches Egypt's Initial CCIE Mobile Workshop in Collaboration with MCIT and NTI
In a significant move towards advancing technical education and digital transformation in Egypt, Cisco, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), has launched the first Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Mobile Lab in Egypt [1][2][4]. The lab, located within Cisco's Cairo office, is a crucial step in expanding Cisco's global Mobile Labs network and providing local access to one of Cisco’s most prestigious networking certifications [4].
This initiative offers Egyptian engineers the opportunity to take the challenging CCIE exams domestically, eliminating the need for travel abroad. The CCIE certification is awarded to engineers with advanced technical knowledge and extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex networks, making it a globally recognized benchmark of technical excellence and one of Cisco's highest-level certifications [1].
The launch of the CCIE Mobile Lab aligns with MCIT's strategy to provide high-quality technical training for youth, supporting Egypt’s digital transformation by building a skilled, world-class technical workforce capable of designing, implementing, and managing complex networks essential for the digital and AI-driven future [1][2]. By equipping youth and professionals with cutting-edge networking and cybersecurity skills, the initiative directly connects local talent to international standards and certifications without geographic constraints [1].
The partnership between Cisco, MCIT, and NTI, which has been in place for over 20 years, has already qualified thousands of Egyptian engineers in networking and cybersecurity [1][2]. The collaboration has resulted in a "qualitative leap" in Egypt’s training ecosystem, lowering cost and logistical barriers for candidates [1][2].
The first phase of CCIE assessments at the Mobile Lab is scheduled for September 21 to October 2, 2025, signaling the operational start of this transformative local capability [1][3]. The lab offers advanced, internationally accredited training and certification opportunities within Egypt, fostering innovation, global employability, and the country’s digital readiness [1].
Networking and cybersecurity are foundational technologies in the era of artificial intelligence. By providing local access to the CCIE certification, the CCIE Mobile Lab in Egypt supports Egypt's goal of developing a skilled talent pool capable of driving digital transformation in the region.
