Commencement of the annual training period at Greifswald's City Hall
In the University and Hanseatic City of Greifswald, six new adults have embarked on their career paths today, as they began their apprenticeships within the city administration.
The apprenticeship programme, which covers various areas such as personnel, construction, environment and sustainability, school, culture and social affairs, economy, security, finance, and more, welcomed its new recruits. This year, two men and one woman have started their apprenticeship as administrative assistants.
One man is being trained as a street sweeper, one as a gardener, and another woman as a specialist for media and information services in the city library. The city library, as part of the apprenticeship programme, offers a specialty in media and information services.
The mayor, Dr. Stefan Fassbinder, welcomed the apprentices and their trainers, along with the chairman of the works council at St. Spiritus. The mayor thanked all employees involved in the apprenticeship programme and expressed his gratitude for their commitment to nurturing the city's future workforce.
Applications for apprenticeships at the city administration can be submitted for the following year, but the deadline has not been specified. The selection process for apprenticeships involves a pool of applicants, with the number of apprenticeships offered for the following year yet to be announced.
Successful completion of the apprenticeship offers good career prospects, with potential for employment within the city administration. The mayor and the chairman of the works council at St. Spiritus are actively involved in the apprenticeship programme, ensuring its continued success and growth.
While the names of the two supervisors who oversee the trainees in Greifswald remain undisclosed, the city administration remains committed to providing quality training and opportunities for its apprentices. The apprenticeship programmes in Greifswald are open to individuals of all genders, encouraging diversity and inclusivity within the city administration.
