The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) is gearing up for an unforgettable 25th season, with a series of exciting events lined up at the newly renovated and air-conditioned Cebu Coliseum. The announcement was made during a committee meeting on Tuesday, July 8, by Cesafi Commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy Jr.
Highlights of the upcoming season include a hip-hop dance competition scheduled for the morning of September 10, 2025, at the Cebu Coliseum. Following the dance competition, an exhibition game featuring former Cesafi varsity players will take place. The Cesafi Awards Night, honouring outstanding athletes, coaches, and members, is set for September 11, 2025.
The opening day of the Cesafi season 25 will take place on September 13, 2025, and general admission will be free for students. However, specific details regarding the fees for the other seating sections, such as ringside, lower box, and upper box, are yet to be determined.
In addition to the sports events, a parade of muses is being planned for the Cesafi season 25 event. The Cesafi Fun Run, open to both men and women in three race categories - 15-kilometer, 7K, and 3K - will take place on September 9, 2025, as part of the 25th anniversary celebration.
Notable attendees at the July 8 meeting included Mark Leo Chang, head of Cesafi at 25 awards, Atty. Baldomero Estenzo, chairman of the screening committee, Athena Romulo, executive assistant to the commissioner, Cathy Vestil, deputy commissioner for Academic and Cultural, and Bernard Ricablanca, fun run coordinator.
