A 67-year-old resident of Erfurt has become the latest victim of investment fraud, with the incident involving cryptocurrency. The resident initially transferred 250 euros online for a supposed investment, but over several weeks, he was asked to make further transfers totalling almost 32,000 euros.
The fraudsters claimed the resident's investment had grown significantly, with the value of his supposed earnings reaching 120,000 euros. However, the resident soon realised he had been defrauded and filed a criminal complaint with the State Police Inspectorate Erfurt on Monday morning.
