Customs Office Open Day in Schweinfurt: Experiences from a Well-Received Event
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt opened its doors to the public on July 29, 2025, welcoming over 800 visitors for an informative and engaging Open Day.
Franziska Schubert, the Government Director of the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, delivered an opening speech, emphasising the role of customs in Germany's security architecture, financial capacity, crime fighting, citizen protection, economy, and environment.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore various aspects of customs work. Topics covered included tax collection, species protection, customs duties, import and export clearance of goods, traffic and consumption taxes, smuggling and undeclared work prevention, customs' own inspection service, punishment of criminal offenses, and administrative offenses.
