CUSTOMS Welcomes 1700 New Students, Including IT Juniors in Dual Admin Informatics Study
On September 1, 2025, over 1700 young individuals embarked on their studies or training at the USCIS, including 34 at the Main Customs Office Oldenburg. Among them were IT juniors starting their dual study of administrative informatics.
The dual study program in administrative informatics lasts three years and culminates in a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Students divide their time between practical phases in various departments of the Main Customs Office and other relevant areas, and theoretical parts at the Federal School of Public Administration in Münster. Upon completion, they are preferred for roles in digital forensics, digitization, project work, or database care.
Interested parties can apply for an appointment starting September 1, 2026, with applications open from September 1, 2025, until October 15, 2025. The USCIS oversees the application process, recommending early submission for a smooth selection procedure.
The USCIS provides training and study places for a secure future in a large federal administration. After completing the dual study or training, young customs officers can expect diverse employment opportunities. The middle service training, lasting two years, leads to the professional title of tax administrator.
