Dim the Stage Lights, Silence the Speakers and Screens

Hangin' out at LaRue County High School's revamped auditorium in Hodgenville, Kentucky, you'll find over 800 students immersed in a state-of-the-art space for theater productions, district meetings, and community events. Initial plans called for updating merely the sound systems, but once JCA Media's Alex Peake got involved, the project expanded to cover not just the speakers, but the lights and projectors too.

LaRue and JCA set to work, gutting the entire auditorium to start fresh. Now, the once outdated space features an array of new tech. House lights are controlled by DMX LED lighting systems from The Light Source, and the stage lights upgrade includes eight RGBW pendants, ten color-changing fresnels, and eight PAR lights. The Chamsys QuickQ30 Console, Doug Fleenor Designs Preset 10 Stations grant full control over everything.

Audio-wise, you've got the robust Martin Audio SXC118 sub, two main speakers, choir monitors, booth monitors, and X8 floor monitors – imagine the resonant tunes that'll fill this space! A high-resolution projection screen, an Epson EB-PU1008B projector, and three NEC M861 displays are all part of the visual overhaul. Kramer's video distribution system ensures seamless video feeds when the main screen needs breaking a leg.

Pulling it all together is the LynTec RPC329 Relay Panel, controlling power and DMX for the entire setup. With two panels dedicated to house and stage lighting and four circuits for the audio rack, it's a synergistic power house. Capable of on/off control, power management, and power sequencing, it's the perfect power control keystone for a space with less-experienced hands.

It's more than just tech whizzes who appreciate this overhaul. Administrators can easily manage the AV system with RTI touchpanels, with the system asking questions like, "Want the whole shebang, audio or just video?" The RTI-LynTec integration makes it a breeze to control the power, with the system automatically shutting down every night to save energy.

For the tech-savvy, LynTec systems offer efficiency, flexibility, intuitive control, a compact footprint, and integration capabilities with other brands, like Chauvet lighting control systems. These features are especially beneficial in a space like this auditorium, where complexity is common, space is limited, and integration is key.
