🎉 Here's Your Fresh Take! 🎉

Hop on board as we delve into the incredible journey of over 450 students from Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) who've reaped the benefits of the Cash-for-Work (CFW) Program for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This life-changing initiative, under the DSWD's KALAHI-CIDSS umbrella, has brought a whopping ₱1.56 million to our deserving scholars!

The program, spearheaded by DSWD Field Office-Davao, has been a beacon of support for 461 brilliant minds, helping them weather the storm of daily expenses and academic necessities. Over a span of 25 action-packed days, 422 students dove headfirst into community service, tricking down the trash in environmental cleanups, planting nature's green army in tree-planting extravaganzas, and contributing to the civic pride of their barangays. These eco-warriors earned a cool ₱240.50 per day, amounting to a total of ₱6,012.50 each.

But that wasn't all! A special shout-out to the 39 recent DNSC graduates who flexed their muscles in full eight-hour workdays, pocketing ₱481 a day and a grand total of ₱12,025 each!

Beyond a quick fix for temporary income, the program sets its sights high, aiming to amplify youth participation in local development and champion environmental conservation while sparking social engagement. As a component of the wider Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-Cidss), the Cash-for-Work Program targets low-income families and underprivileged youth, offering a chance to stay in school while gaining valuable work experience and making a difference in their communities.

In June 2025, the DSWD is still hard at work implementing CFW initiatives across Mindanao, powering the government's crusade against poverty, reducing youth unemployment, and strengthening grassroots involvement in national development.

(Fun fact: Here's a sneak peek into the program's inner workings-college graduates clock in for a full 8-hour workday at PHP 414 per day, while students work for 4 hours daily at PHP 270 per hour. Participants lend their skills to various government agencies, including the DSWD, CSWDO, DepEd, and local government offices. The program begins with an initial salary allocation of over PHP 1.3 million for participating students and graduates in Mindanao, particularly in Zamboanga Peninsula. It adopts the Community-Driven Development (CDD) approach, which is globally recognized for improving local service delivery, poverty alleviation, and promoting good governance at the grassroots level.)

(As a scholars' empowerment program, the Cash-for-Work Program aims to achieve several objectives-providing temporary employment and income support to jobless youth, fostering community engagement by matching youth with tasks aligned with their academic background, enhancing the capacity of local government units and agencies by supplying workforce needs with skilled youth, contributing to poverty reduction by offering direct financial assistance, and helping youth gain relevant work experience that can improve their employability.)

(By directly pumping income into the pockets of participating youth, the program helps alleviate poverty at the household level. By offering work experience and income concurrently, it bridges the employment gap for young grads and students, making them more competitive in the job market. The bonding with government and local agencies fortifies community ties and service delivery, indirectly promoting socio-economic development and poverty reduction. The CDD approach ensures that the program goes beyond job creation and supports community-driven solutions to combat poverty, ensuring long-term sustainability.)

(Similar cash-for-work initiatives, such as the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program, which involves college students across multiple regions, including Mindanao, have demonstrated monumental social and economic benefits through the blend of educational support and financial incentives.)

Stay tuned for more inspiring success stories as we continue to champion the Cash-for-Work Program for HEIs in Mindanao, making education accessible, empowering our youth, and strengthening our communities! 💪🙌⚡🚀🌳🌏💼🔥📚💡🌟🚀🌱🚀🌎🚀🎓🚀💡🚀🚀💡🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀💡🚀🚀🚀🚀💡🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀💡🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀ческий😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
