Free Language Mediator Training in Bavaria: Certify & Start in March
The district administration office in Bavaria is set to offer a free training course for language mediators in January 2026. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and can start their first assignments in March. The course, open for registrations until November 21, 2025, consists of five in-person sessions totaling around 18 hours.
The project, initiated in 2016, currently involves around 250 volunteers speaking 31 different languages. These language mediators, organized and trained by various Landratsämter, including the one in Aschaffenburg, support people with limited language skills in conversations with authorities or counseling services. The upcoming course in January 2026 is a continuation of this ongoing effort to provide assistance and improve communication within the community.
With registrations open until November 21, 2025, the January 2026 language mediator training course offers a valuable opportunity for volunteers to gain certification and contribute to the district's language support services. Upon completion, participants can start their first assignments in March, further strengthening the network of language mediators in Bavaria.
