City of Essen Announces Scholarship Program for Young Engaged Residents
The City of Essen has announced a new scholarship program called the "Ehrenamtsstipendium für junge Engagierte." This scholarship, offering 15 scholarships of €150 per month for a year, is open to young, committed residents of Essen who meet the eligibility criteria.
The application period for the scholarship runs from July 31, 2025, to October 31, 2025. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 27 in 2026. They must also be active honorary members of an association, federation, or similar institution based in Essen.
Scholarship holders will maintain regular contact with the Citizen Participation and Volunteer Affairs department of the city portal. They will also have the opportunity to network with each other.
Applicants must be in school, vocational training, studying, or doing a voluntary social year in 2026. It is important to note that applicants cannot already be receiving other funding such as the Deutschlandstipendium.
