Gärtner Calls for 100 Billion Euro School Fund Amidst Child Neglect Concerns

Quentin Gärtner, General Secretary of the Federal Student Conference, has called for a special fund of 100 billion euros to be allocated for schools. Meanwhile, sociologist Aladin El-Mafaalani, along with co-authors Kurtenbach and Strohmeier, has published a book titled 'Children. Minority without Protection', highlighting the lack of consideration for children in Germany's aging society.

Gärtner argues that better education is crucial to address issues caused by older generations. He believes that young people should be involved in political decisions that affect them, but currently, they are not. Gärtner also criticizes the government's military service plans, stating that the state of classrooms is not up to par.

El-Mafaalani points out that despite significant future challenges, there are fewer children in Germany. In their book, they argue that the aging society is neither child-friendly nor fair to children. Both Gärtner and El-Mafaalani agree that the interests and needs of children are not adequately considered. Gärtner demands significant investment in education, criticizing the lack of investment despite its importance for national defense and pensions.

Gärtner's call for a 100 billion euro fund for schools reflects the urgent need for investment in education. Both Gärtner and El-Mafaalani, along with their co-authors, emphasize the importance of considering the needs of children and young people in Germany's aging society.
