In an exciting development, Ghanaian game studio Leti Arts is joining forces with international studios like Amazon Games, Team17, Skybound Games, Day Zero Games (co-founded by Trevor Noah), and climate-tech nonprofit PlanetPlay for the June 7 Green Games Showcase.

The highlight of Leti Arts' participation is the #LetiGoesGreen campaign, an initiative that leverages their popular game, SWEAVE, to contribute positively to the environment. Through this campaign, Leti Arts aims to turn gameplay into a tool for real-world environmental impact.

SWEAVE, available on Google Play and the App Store, is the first African-made title to fund tree planting through gameplay. Every download and in-game interaction starting June 7 will contribute to tree planting under Kenya's Hongera Project, a reforestation initiative aiming to plant 50,000 trees by June 30.

The campaign uses SWEAVE to motivate players to participate in eco-friendly activities indirectly through gaming, effectively linking entertainment with sustainability efforts. Eyram Tawia, CEO and Co-Founder of Leti Arts, stated that with SWEAVE, they are taking African leadership global.

Leti Arts has partnerships with PlanetPlay and WithOneSeed in Kenya for the #LetiGoesGreen campaign. PlanetPlay, a company proving that play can be powerful, is ensuring that environmental impact can be entertaining, inclusive, and inspiring.

The #LetiGoesGreen campaign includes an update linking SWEAVE gameplay to real-world tree planting. It also includes media activations, influencer takeovers, and social campaigns across Africa.

The Green Games Showcase, launched in collaboration with PlanetPlay, highlights how games can deliver measurable environmental impact. The event will be streamed live at 13:00 PST via The Game Awards YouTube channel. PlanetPlay CEO Rhea Loucas said that the Green Games Showcase is more than just a showcase, it's a rallying cry.
