Good and Sky School Launches Drone Operator Course for Krasnodar Students

The 'Good and Sky' school, a joint project between the 'Good and Deed' charitable foundation and Krasnodar authorities, has launched a comprehensive Coursera-like drone operator course. Over 80 local schoolchildren are participating, with each group consisting of 12 students to ensure personalised attention. The course, funded by a governor's grant, aims to equip students with practical skills and a 'UAV Operator' qualification upon completion.

The course, spanning 20 lessons, covers a wide range of topics including programming, drone construction, and management. Students from grades 7 to 11 are eligible to participate. Successful graduates will receive a 'UAV Operator' qualification certificate, following exams that assess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on a polygon or simulators. The course combines classroom theory with hands-on experience, preparing students for safe and responsible drone operation.

Students were selected through agreements between the foundation and school directors and deputy directors. The education is provided free of charge to the selected children. Krasnodar's head, Yevgeny Naumov, expressed hope that these skills will benefit students' peaceful lives. The course is designed to meet the requirements for obtaining a 'UAV Operator' qualification, including passing a comprehensive theoretical exam covering weather knowledge, air law, navigation, communication, and safety procedures, as well as a practical exam demonstrating the ability to safely start, operate, and land a drone.

The 'Good and Sky' school project, implemented by the 'Good and Deed' foundation with government support, has provided over 80 Krasnodar schoolchildren with the opportunity to learn practical drone operation skills. Upon successful completion of the course and exams, graduates will receive a 'UAV Operator' qualification, opening doors to potential career paths or hobbyist pursuits. The project aims to foster innovation and responsible drone usage among the region's youth.
