Herford District's 'Safe on the Road' Project Educates First-Graders with Faryna Concerts
The Herford district's 'Traffic Safety' working group has launched the 'Safe on the Road' project and Faryna concerts, aiming to educate first-graders about road safety. County Commissioner Jürgen Müller praised the initiative, highlighting the joy it brings to children and its significant impact.
Faryna, a musician awarded the 'Roter Ritter' prize by Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V., has been touring primary schools in the district for seven years. On Friday, September 26, 2025, Faryna performed at the Kulturfabrik in Vlotho for all first-graders from the town's four primary schools. The catchy songs, filled with repetition and gestures, taught children about visibility, traffic light use, safe cycling, mobility, and school routes. County Commissioner Jürgen Müller attended the concert, joining Faryna and the children in dancing on stage. This year, Faryna will perform over 15 concerts, visiting every town and municipality in the Herford district to reach around 2,800 first-graders. The next Faryna concert tour is scheduled for the spring of 2026.
The 'Safe on the Road' project and Faryna concerts, initiated by the 'Traffic Safety' working group, have successfully educated thousands of first-graders about road safety. With County Commissioner Jürgen Müller's support and Faryna's engaging performances, the project continues to bring joy and valuable lessons to children across the Herford district.
