Advanced technologies beyond AI also received attention. Quantum computing, semiconductors, augmented/virtual/mixed reality, cloud and edge computing, and 5/6G connectivity were discussed, with the UK’s Science and Technology Framework highlighting progress and leadership ambitions in these areas.
Inclusive leadership and diversity in tech were key highlights. The European Women in Technology conference focused on how inclusive leadership combined with AI innovation unlocks new ways to grow and thrive in the tech industry. Speakers stressed the importance of fostering broad representation in leadership to spark more inclusive solutions, making technology more accessible and equitable for all.
DeepTech organisations were also a topic of discussion, with emphasis on their use of the latest tech innovations to solve future problems and shape the world. Ethical use of technology, particularly in relation to DeepTech solutions, was a topic of debate.
Notable panels and keynotes included discussions by prominent global leaders, such as representatives from Microsoft, IBM, NatWest Group, WPP, Canva, and others. Fashion industry leaders also explored technology's impact on, and future developments of, circular fashion consumption.
