Insufficient firing range hinders the revival of the military academy in Krasnoyarsk.
Rewritten Article:
A major hurdle in reviving a military academy in Krasnoyarsk is the lack of a military training ground or polygon, as expressed by Mayor Vladislav Login during a city council meeting today. It's worth noting that such educational decisions are exclusively the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The question of re-establishing an academy for training military professionals arose following the Mayor's report. Let's remind ourselves that there used to be the KVKURE PVO – the Krasnoyarsk Higher Command Academy of Radio Electronics, which was founded in 1949 and disbanded at the end of the 1990s.
Mayor Login, a graduate of the Aчинское Military Aviation Technical School, expressed his support for re-establishing a military academy in Krasnoyarsk.
"Having a military academy in the city significantly elevates its status, and we will put in all efforts to make this a reality," he stated.
However, the city has little control over this matter; the Ministry of Defense handles such issues, and numerous other cities, including those in Siberia, are contenders.
There are suitable sites in Krasnoyarsk for the academy, which are owned by the military, but the surrounding area lacks a suitable training ground for the academy.
"The training ground should not be within the city or a settlement, as there are certain requirements regarding distance from populated areas and main bases," the Mayor pointed out. "Once all the conditions align, I'm confident that the Ministry of Defense will make the right decision."
