Karlsruhe School Wins €30,000 Democracy Prize for Exceptional Education
The Ernst-Reuter-Community School in Karlsruhe has been recognised for its outstanding efforts in democracy education, scooping the Baden-Württemberg Democracy Prize's Theme Prize Democracy Education, worth 30,000 euros. The school has previously won the prestigious award.
The school's approach to democracy education combines responsibility, participation, and media competence. It has successfully implemented various projects, including Education and Science, School, and Community School initiatives, all of which foster a culture of involvement and discussion among its students.
The school's commitment to democracy education has not gone unnoticed by the Minister of Culture, Theresa Schopper, who personally congratulated the winning school in Berlin. With around 370 students and about 40 teachers, the school promotes diversity and inclusion, making it a vibrant hub of learning and growth.
