Kids' traffic safety workshops in Kamchatka
In a commendable initiative, Eлизоvo District Traffic Police and young traffic inspectors from Eлиzovo Middle School No. 7 named after O. N. Mamchenkov organised a joint road safety awareness event today in Kamchatka Krai. The primary objective of this event was to prevent road traffic accidents involving minors, emphasising the shared responsibility among parents, law enforcement officers, and the community.
The day began with introducing different types of traffic lights and their signals to the children, followed by discussions on various types of pedestrian crossings. Law enforcement officers and their young assistants explained the importance of observing traffic rules, including the responsibilities of pedestrians and safe usage guidelines for bicycles and skateboards.
The event served as a reminder that the best way to prevent road traffic accidents involving minors is through consistent education and practical exercises. Instructors at the event stressed the importance of parents consistently teaching their children traffic rules and reinforcing learning through such exercises.
The children were actively engaged in interactive activities, quizzes, games, and competitions that taught road safety in an engaging manner. These activities took place in public recreation areas, including parks, squares, and children's playgrounds, creating a community-wide awareness of the importance of traffic safety for minors.
The event also aimed to educate parents as well as children about traffic safety.
