Krea Youth Club receives "Creative Recognition" award
In March 2025, the city association "Eine Welt Bergisch Gladbach e.V." celebrated the culmination of their annual competition, "Playing - Ways to Fun, Education, Sociability, Problem-Solving and More." This year's event, focused on showcasing the diverse roles of playing and its impact on various aspects of life, saw several impressive entries from schools, kindergartens, non-profit associations, sports clubs, and individuals.
Organized around the motto "Playing - Ways to Fun, Education, Sociability, Problem-Solving and More," the competition aimed to promote the numerous benefits of playing, including fostering enjoyment and entertainment, serving as a tool for learning and skill development, encouraging social interaction, enhancing critical thinking and creativity, and recognizing other positive impacts on individuals and groups.
The competition was supported by the culture and environment foundation of the Cologne district savings bank, which donated 1000 euros as the prize money. The winners included the KiTa Dreckspatz, the Mechtild Münzer organization together with farm in a suitcase, the Nutrition Council Bergisches Land e.V., Amnesty, and the Krea-Jugendclub, who received first place and 500 euros in prize money. Other winners were also praised and received 150 or 100 euros in prize money.
The ceremony for the awards took place at the Bergisch Gladbach town hall, with Horst Fossen, the chairman of the city association Eine Welt e.V., presenting the certificates to the winners. The competition in 2024 focused on presenting playing as a wonderful and multifaceted instrument, promoting education, community cohesion, and knowledge conveyance in an appealing way.
Moreover, the city association "Eine Welt" saw the aspects "sustainability" and "climate protection" as important for the global development of mankind and incorporated these aspects into the competition in 2024. In fact, a major project for 2023 has already been determined, with a focus on "climate" and "playing."
