Digital Education Revolution Hits Kurdistan Region

In a bold move, The Digital School, under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has teamed up with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq to reshape the education landscape in the region. This groundbreaking digital education collaboration fruitfully during a trip by The Digital School's delegation to the Kurdistan Region.

At the core of the partnership, several digital schools were officially opened, over 2,400 teachers graduated from a digital education program, and a novel initiative was launched to educate an additional 10,000 educators in conjunction with Arizona State University. To cater to the Kurdish community, The Digital School's digital learning platforms are now equipped with Kurdish language support.

Significant milestones include converting the Kurdish national curriculum for grades 1 to 9 into a digital format, converting teacher training courses, and outfitting 64 schools with smart technology. To date, over 40,000 students and 2,000 teachers have registered on the platform.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of The Digital School, applauded the commitment to empower the forthcoming generation with the tools they need to thrive in a digital world. Alan Hama Saeed, Minister of Education for the KRG, noted that The Digital School's fully digital learning model is instrumental in preparing Generation Alpha for the tech-dominated future.

During the visit, classroom tours, equipment evaluations, and a ceremony to honor standout teachers took place. Dubai Cares, a vital supporter, emphasized the critical role that digital education has in creating flexible, adaptable learning systems tailored to our rapidly evolving world.

Created in 2020, The Digital School strives to deliver top-tier digital and blended learning to individuals within underserved communities, refugees, and displaced learners worldwide.
