Lünen city greets 40 new apprentices and scholars
The city of Lünen, Germany, marked a significant milestone on Monday, 1st September 2025, with the admission of 40 new apprentices and students into its administration.
The event, held in the city, was a warm welcome for the young talents embarking on a variety of training and study programs. The programs include administrative management assistants, Bachelor students of law and social sciences, fire service recruits, PIA educators, and childcare workers.
Notably, among the newcomers, the city is training a fire chief recruit for the first time. Dr. Christian Märkert, the current trained firefighter chief candidate, has been leading the Lünen Fire Department since August 2021.
The young people were personally greeted by the First Deputy Mayor, Axel Tschersich, who expressed the city's enthusiasm for working with the new talents. The First Deputy Mayor also emphasised the importance of the young people's work in contributing to the preservation of democracy in Lünen.
The 40 new apprentices and students joined the administration of the city of Lünen, and their work is expected to benefit the Lünen community. The city looks forward to a successful start for all newcomers and wishes them well in their endeavours.
The training year has begun for these young individuals, and it's an exciting time for Lünen as it welcomes a new generation of talent into its administration.
