The program, employer-driven, allows candidates with job offers in these areas to apply for permanent residence and a work permit. Meanwhile, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has shared its priority sectors for the city, focusing on public safety and community engagement.

Moose Jaw's priority sectors for the RCIP include Business, Finance, Sales and Service, Trades and Transport, Manufacturing and Utilities, and Education, Law and Social Services. Only candidates working in these sectors and specific occupations for designated employers can be recommended for endorsement. The RCMP, operating in Moose Jaw, has identified key areas of focus, including traffic safety, crime prevention, drug trafficking, violence reduction, community relations, emergency response, and cybercrime prevention. Employers send recommendations during intake periods, and approved candidates can apply for permanent residence and a work permit. Certain sectors and occupations have restrictions, such as gas stations and convenience stores with fewer than 10 full-time employees. Moose Jaw's priority occupations include Accounting Technicians, Administrative Officers, Agricultural Inspectors, and Automotive Service Technicians, among others. Candidates must also have at least one year of related work experience, meet language proficiency requirements, have a Canadian or equivalent education, and possess sufficient settlement funds.
