New Youth Art School Brings Art to People in North Rhine-Westphalia
The 'Jugendkunstschule kunsthaus alte muhle e.V.' from Schmallenberg is backing the establishment of a new youth art school in North Rhine-Westphalia. Arnsberg and Meschede are leading this inter-municipal project, with Sundern also involved, aiming to create decentralized cultural youth work through networking local artists and institutions. The project, funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science for three years and additionally supported by Förderkreis Kunst und Kultur Kloster Wedinghausen e.V., will see Beate Herrmann, director of the supporting institution, visiting artists and facilities to integrate potential participants. The youth art school will offer decentralized cultural youth work, with no fixed location. Instead, it will bring the art to the people through the 'Kunstmobil' (KUMO), starting on-site in city centers and districts. Interested parties can register for the KUMO, with registration times determining the schedule for 2025. The first offers will be developed in 2026 based on a pedagogical concept, involving various facilities and artists. Artists from Arnsberg, Meschede, Sundern, and surrounding areas are invited to participate in the program. Arnsberg and Meschede aim to expand their cultural education landscape through this initiative. The youth art school project, with support from Schmallenberg's 'Jugendkunstschule kunsthaus alte muhle e.V.', is set to bring art to the people of Arnsberg, Meschede, Sundern, and surrounding areas. With funding secured and local artists invited to participate, the project is poised to enhance cultural education and create a space for exploration and creativity.
