Over 5,400 students educated about transportation in regions Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie
In an effort to educate future users of public transport from a young age, Transdev has been actively promoting safety awareness among students in the regions of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie.
Over the past year, Transdev subsidiaries have organised numerous awareness sessions for students, taking place both in classrooms and real-life situations between April and June 2025. These sessions aimed to help students understand the benefits of public transport, the available networks, and safe travel reflexes, as well as evacuation procedures in case of incidents.
Transdev Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in particular, has been at the forefront of this initiative. Belinda, a collaborator from Transdev Nouvelle-Aquitaine, played a significant role in the campaign. The learning took place on the networks of various transport services, including Alégo, Baiïa, Calibus, Mio, TGM, R'bus, Cara'bus, Elios, and interurban entities such as CFTA Centre Ouest in Brive-la-Gaillarde, Citram Aquitaine, and Occitrans La Rochelle.
The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including the importance of respecting safety instructions, adopting the right reflexes, and taking care of belongings. Students were also sensitized about the environmental benefits of public transport and the role it plays in reducing carbon footprint.
The Security Village, a facility designed to educate visitors about safety and security, has been installed in both Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Montauban. This interactive installation provided a hands-on learning experience for students, helping them to better understand the practical aspects of safety in public transport.
The press, including France Bleu and ICI La Rochelle, reported on this initiative, highlighting its importance in raising awareness about transport, safety, and the environment. In total, over 5,400 students in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regions were sensitized about public transport and safety in 2025.
While specific details about Transdev's initiatives in these regions are not readily available, readers interested in learning more about the company's safety awareness programs are encouraged to visit Transdev's official website or contact them directly for more information.
For those seeking further insights into the educational initiatives in these regions, articles on Sud Ouest Gironde and Sud Ouest Charente Maritime may prove to be interesting reading. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Campus des métiers et des qualifications focuses on integrating education with economic needs, though transport safety programs are not specifically mentioned. Occitanie, on the other hand, has initiatives like the Campus partnering with enterprises in the wind energy sector, offering specialized training modules. However, there is no specific mention of a public transport safety awareness program for students in these regions.
- Transdev's promotion of safety awareness extended to the realms of finance and lifestyle, as students were informed about the economic benefits of using public transport, such as cost savings and reduced carbon footprint.
- In line with its mission to foster a well-rounded education, Transdev's campaigns in the Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine region have included sessions on education-and-self-development, teaching students valuable life skills like independent navigation and responsible behavior.
- To further enhance the educational impact of its initiatives, Transdev also considers partnerships with industries like transportation, as seen in collaborations with companies like SNCF, Eurotunnel, and Thales, which contribute to the broader understanding of safe travel practices for students.
