Pakistan & Saudi Arabia Team Up to Train 1M AI Professionals, Boost Digital Transformation
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have announced a significant collaboration in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The partnership aims to train one million AI professionals in Pakistan and enhance public services through AI-driven projects.
Pakistan's IT and Telecommunication Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, representing Pakistan at the Global Cybersecurity Forum 2025 in Riyadh, discussed the potential of AI and cybersecurity cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The two countries plan to leverage Saudi Arabia's 'One Million Saudis in AI' model to build AI capacity in Pakistan, aiming to create 50,000 AI-driven civic projects and 1,000 local AI products in the next five years.
Pakistan's National AI Policy 2025, launched earlier this year, seeks to enhance public services and generate employment opportunities through AI. The policy aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on oil by developing public service sectors. The partnership aims to promote bilateral cooperation under these respective visions.
The collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in AI and cybersecurity is set to boost Pakistan's digital transformation and create new job opportunities. With a shared vision for AI development, the two countries aim to strengthen their ties and enhance public services through innovative AI-driven projects.
