Holy Cross University Rebrands with New Logo and Identity

Holy Cross University has recently undergone a rebranding effort, unveiling a new logo, website, and profile pictures in July 2025. The changes mark a shift towards a more modern and unified identity for the college, aiming to strengthen its community spirit and connect with the next generation of students.

The primary Crusaders logo, a classic emblem that has symbolized strength, courage, and tradition since its introduction in 1951, remains largely unchanged. However, a secondary wordmark logo has been introduced, featuring two crossed swords behind a shield with three crosses on an orange background. This new logo represents faith, loyalty, and courage, values that are central to the Holy Cross community.

Despite the positive intentions behind the rebrand, the new logo was met with negative feedback from a significant portion of the student body. In response, the university has decided to change the logo again, with the serif font being identified as the primary issue.

Ben Lepper, a tour guide coordinator at Holy Cross and Editor-in-Chief of The Spire and The Criterion, wrote an article titled "A Quick Look At The Holy Cross Esports Program" for The Spire, providing insights into the university's efforts to connect with the next generation of students. Lepper, who is also involved in Ultimate Frisbee at Holy Cross, is a student at the university, majoring in English with a French Minor.

The new logo will use a font popular among young people, hoping to better resonate with the current student body and foster a stronger connection with the university. Although a timeline for the new logo's launch has not been provided, Holy Cross is eager to move forward with this rebranding initiative.

Nathan Howard, a student at Holy Cross majoring in Art History and Political Science, is also deeply involved in the school's community. As a member of The Spire and Moot Court, Howard contributes to the university's vibrant academic and extracurricular life.

In his spare time, Ben Lepper enjoys watching Draft Day, and his favorite song changes weekly, with Make It Easy currently at the top of his playlist. As the university continues to evolve and adapt, so too does its student body, each member contributing to the rich tapestry of Holy Cross's community spirit.
