Refreshed Blogs for the New Year

As the new academic year begins at Princeton University, the university's blog is excited to welcome four new correspondents joining four returning ones.

The new correspondents include Ellie Breitfeld, hailing from Peachtree Corners, Georgia, who takes on the role of Chief Correspondent. Ellie, with a passion for the arts, particularly oil painting and charcoal drawing, is also involved in various campus activities such as Highsteppers, Orange Key, Club Swim, and the Student Advisory Board for the Art Museum. Outside of the studio, Ellie enjoys hiking and relaxing by waterfalls.

Joining Ellie is Andrea Reino, a junior from New York with roots in Spain. Andrea, who is a PUMP mentor, a Petey Greene tutor, and a double-bass player in the Princeton University Orchestra, will be the Social Sciences Correspondent.

Saira Reyes, a sophomore from Northern New Jersey, planning to concentrate in chemical and biological engineering, is the Engineering Correspondent. Saira has previously worked on research projects focusing on polymer nanoimprints and microfluidics, and over the summer, she was involved in a research project involving metabolic engineering.

Nanako Shirai, a sophomore from New Hampshire, with past experiences living in Pennsylvania and South Carolina, is the Natural Sciences Correspondent. Nanako is a violinist in the Princeton University Orchestra, treasurer for the Japanese Student Association, an officer for the TEDx division of Princeton Social Innovation, and works at the Princeton Writing Center as a fellow. Nanako is interested in how biology and culture shape social interactions and is considering Molecular Biology or Chemistry as her major.

The four returning correspondents include Rafi, Shanon, Alec, and Elise.

The posts from the correspondents will showcase what they have been up to and will also offer advice. The first posts of the academic year will be published next week.

For those interested in learning more about the correspondents and their fields of study, we encourage you to check the official Princeton University blog archives or contact the university's communications office directly.

Ellie Breitfeld's lifestyle outside the studio, which includes hiking and relaxing by waterfalls, is equally fascinating as her artistic pursuits. Andrea Reino's involvement in education-and-self-development initiatives such as PUMP mentorship and Petey Greene tutoring demonstrates her commitment to personal growth and community service.
