The inspection, scheduled to be completed by mid-August, revealed that extensive preparations had been made. More than 2.5 billion rubles were allocated this year for these preparations, ensuring that everything was in place for a smooth start to the new school year.
Textbooks, laboratory equipment, computers, sports equipment, and more have been purchased and distributed to the educational institutions. Repairs, fire safety, and anti-terrorist measures have also been carried out to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
In addition to the school program, a similar one is being developed for kindergartens. Dining blocks have been equipped in the schools, and medical cabinets have been installed to provide immediate care when needed.
A notable initiative, the "It's Your Call!" project, was carried out to renovate the sports hall in Nizhny Novgorod gymnasium No. 13. This project aimed to upgrade and improve the gymnasium's sports facilities, with a focus on modernizing the sports hall infrastructure, installing new sports equipment, enhancing safety and accessibility features, improving lighting and flooring suitable for various sports activities, and possibly redesigning the hall layout to better accommodate diverse physical education programs.
The city is expecting a significant number of students in September. More than 14,000 first-graders will be joining the schools, while over 61,000 children will be attending kindergartens. In total, more than 158,000 children will be going to school in Nizhny Novgorod this academic year.
