Sheridan County YMCA Launches Faith Scholarship for Spiritual Exploration
The Sheridan County YMCA has launched the Faith Scholarship, a unique opportunity for students to explore their faith and community while receiving financial aid. Despite attempts, the identity of the anonymous donor behind this initiative remains unknown.
The scholarship, worth $1,000, is open to students from any institution of higher learning, be it a university, college, trade school, or certificate program. Unlike traditional scholarships, it does not require a minimum GPA or academic achievements. Instead, it focuses on spiritual and personal growth.
To apply, students must visit various places of worship and document each visit in a hand-bound book provided by the Sheridan County YMCA. This process aims to encourage interfaith exploration and strengthen personal faith.
Liz Cassiday, Executive Director of Sheridan County YMCA, has set a deadline for students to submit their completed logbooks. All entries must be turned in by October 31.
The Faith Scholarship, established by an anonymous donor, is a novel way to support students' spiritual journeys and broaden their horizons.
