The North Black Forest region of Germany is gearing up for a significant transformation in its automotive and supplier industry, with the launch of the TraFoNet North Black Forest project. This initiative, aimed at driving innovation and sustainability within the sector, has received the backing of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, with a total volume of 6.7 million euros.

Pforzheim University is playing a pivotal role in the implementation of the TraFoNet project, offering a range of contributions to support local automotive companies in their journey towards innovation and adaptation.

Professor Dr. Ulrich Jautz, Rector of Pforzheim University, is proud that the university is allowed to support the transformation of the region comprehensively. The company wants to actively accompany the companies and is well-positioned in the consortium of regional actors together with Pforzheim University, according to Protzer.

The contracts for this project were signed at Pforzheim University on Tuesday, with the value of this major research and development contract being exactly 799,999.93 euros. The project aims to bring digital transformation into companies in the North Black Forest region, establishing future-oriented innovation capability in a pragmatic way, as stated by Kömel and Bulander.
