Teachers aged 61, under our city's jurisdiction and affiliated with our organization, have taken their oaths of office.

In a ceremony held at the Grundschule Kreuzschule in Regensburg's old stadium, 61 trainee teachers were sworn in as provisional civil servants. State Minister Tanja Schweiger officiated the event, wishing the new teachers joy in accompanying young people and showing them their potential.

Of the 61 trainee teachers, 30 will be deployed in the city of Regensburg, with the remaining 31 starting their service in the surrounding district (Landkreis) of Regensburg. This makes Regensburg the city with the most trainee teachers employed at their deployment locations.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of a journey for these aspiring educators. After the ceremony, they attended their first staff meeting at their deployment schools, where they were introduced to essential tasks of an educator and the significance of the two weekly seminar days.

Each trainee teacher will receive support from a mentoring teacher at their respective schools. The mentoring teacher will advise the trainee teachers on school life, help them, and serve as a local contact person. This support system is crucial as the new teachers gain initial experience at their deployment locations and observe experienced colleagues to learn about pedagogical approaches and different teaching styles.

The trainee teachers were sworn to allegiance to the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Constitution of the Free State of Bavaria. School Director Clemens Sieber, along with five colleagues, conducted the swearing-in ceremony. Seminar directors Kerstin Lindner (primary school) and Esther Hoffmann (secondary school) were also present.

In addition to the 46 trainee teachers for primary school teaching, 12 were sworn in for secondary school teaching, and three specialist teacher trainees were also included. Numerous practical experiences are made possible during the seminar days through joint lesson analyses and discussions of essential teaching principles.

As the new school year begins, these trainee teachers are eager to start their service and make a positive impact on the lives of their students. Their journey as educators has just begun, and Regensburg schools are excited to welcome them to the community.
