Therapy dogs from the Johanniter organization will be joining forces in September, expanding their services.

The Johanniter kindergartens in Regensburg and Wenzenbach are eagerly anticipating the start of the new academic year, as they welcome several new therapy dog teams. These teams, consisting of dedicated handlers and their trained dogs, are set to bring many enriching encounters to the children they will be working with.

Reinhold and Siglinde Feuerer, along with their bitch Bibi, will be visiting preschool children in the kindergarten on a regular basis. Similarly, Sabine Demel and her dog Moro will be caring for the Johanniter children's club, while Kerstin Schönberger and her dog Spiky will shape the morning circle in the kindergarten. Sandra Schmidmeister and her dog Joy will facilitate the first contact with dogs in the Johanniter nursery school at Wenzenbach Middle School.

These new therapy dog teams have recently completed a written final exam at the end of their seminar and are now ready to begin their practical training in September at the Johanniter kindergarten facilities. The practical training is designed specifically to prepare the teams for working with children in an educational and therapeutic context. The goal is to enable children to interact safely and beneficially with therapy dogs, thereby supporting their social and emotional development.

The encounters with therapy dogs provide opportunities for positive experiences with animals, and children will learn correct and safe handling of dogs through regular deployments. These interactions are expected to foster emotional well-being, social skills, and comfort for the children, making their time in kindergarten even more enjoyable and beneficial.

The new therapy dog teams will start practical training in various Johanniter kindergarten facilities in Wenzenbach starting September. These teams, while not detailed in the search results, are understood to have the general objective of facilitating positive interactions between children and dogs to enhance children's emotional and social skills and provide therapeutic companionship.

  1. The new therapy dog teams, including Reinhold, Siglinde, their dog Bibi, Sabine, Moro, Kerstin, Spiky, and Sandra with Joy, are preparing to facilitate various other lifestyle opportunities for the children in the Johanniter kindergartens and Wenzenbach Middle School.
  2. As part of their education-and-self-development, the children in the Johanniter kindergartens will be interacting with these therapy dogs, aiming to improve their emotional well-being, social skills, and comfort through these encounters.
