The Higher Regional Courts of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart have announced that applications for the training of judicial administration assistants in 2026 are now open. This training offers an exciting opportunity to gain insights into the workings of the justice system across various locations in Baden-Württemberg.

For those who successfully complete their training and exam with a good result, and meet the required beam service, there is a chance to undertake an additional six-month training for the beam service of the middle judicial service (judicial administration specialist).

The training as a judicial administration assistant is diverse and varied, providing a comprehensive understanding of the justice system. In the first year of training, trainees receive a monthly allowance of €1,236.82 gross, which increases to €1,290.96 in the second year and €1,340.61 in the third year.

A total of 22 training locations at local and regional courts are preparing the next generation of justice professionals, with 232 trainees already having started their training in the Baden-Württemberg justice system for the training year 2025.

The Ministry of Justice and Migration welcomed the trainees and encouraged more individuals to apply. A total of 90 out of 726 applicants were hired in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe, while 142 out of 1,558 applicants were accepted in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart.

Justice Minister Marion Gentges congratulated the successful trainees, who were chosen from a total of 2,284 applications. The Minister emphasised that judicial administration assistants are employed in the public service of the state of Baden-Württemberg and are paid according to the collective agreement for the public service of the states (TV-L).

Elmar Steinbacher, the head of the Ministry of Justice and Migration, also welcomed a part of the trainees in the ministry. For further information, individuals can contact the Ministry of Justice and Migration via their press office or citizen representative.

Applications for the training in 2026 are possible at the Higher Regional Courts of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Interested individuals should visit the respective websites of the courts for application information. The two Higher Regional Courts (Oberlandesgerichte) responsible for the application and training of judicial administrative clerks (Justizverwaltungsfachangestellte) from 2026 are the Oberlandesgericht Stuttgart and the Oberlandesgericht Karlsruhe.
