UC Berkeley Names Victoria Coleman as Associate Provost for Berkeley Space Center
UC Berkeley has appointed Victoria Coleman as the associate provost for the Berkeley Space Center. Coleman, who will oversee campus activities for the center, has also been named a professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
The Berkeley Space Center, a planned research and innovation hub, is set to be established on a 36-acre site leased from NASA's Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley. This public-private venture is a collaboration between UC Berkeley and developer SKS Partners.
Coleman brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She previously served as the director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and chief scientist for the U.S. Air Force. Her career spans big tech and research labs, making her an ideal fit for this position.
