UK Launches Central America Fund to Boost Economy, Fight Corruption
The Foreign Office has launched the Central America Programme Fund 2017/18, aiming to boost economic development and improve the business environment in the region. The fund focuses on key areas such as tackling corruption, infrastructure development, and streamlining bureaucracy. Interested organisations can submit initial bids by 16 April 2017.
The bidding process is divided into two stages. By 16 April 2017, organisations must submit a concept bid, with full bids due by 19 May 2017. Successful bidders will sign a standard grant contract with the Foreign Office. Projects should commence no earlier than June 2017, with 90% of spending completed by the end of December 2017 and all activity finished by March 2018.
Projects should prioritise promoting transparency, infrastructure development, vocational education, streamlining bureaucracy, or wider business environment improvements. All expenditures must qualify as Official Development Assistance (ODA). Bids should be submitted in English to [email protected] website, with the title 'Central America Regional Fund 2017: name of implementer'. The timeline for 2017 includes key dates for board meetings, bid deadlines, and project completion.
The Central America Programme Fund 2017/18 seeks to enhance the region's business environment and promote economic development. Organisations are encouraged to submit bids, with the first deadline approaching on 16 April 2017.
