UZH Hosts Free Conference on Audiovisual Media's Role in Tradition Transformation

The final conference of the 'Media, Modernity, and the Transformation of Tradition(s)' project is set for September 8 and 9, 2025 at UZH. Titled 'The Role of Audiovisual Media from an International Perspective,' the event is free to attend and registration is open until August 31, 2025 via email to [email protected].

The conference, a culmination of the Claiming Folklore project, explores the impact of audiovisual media on traditions and modernity. Attendees can choose to participate in one or both days of the event. The project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, focuses on folk music on Swiss television from the 1960s to the 1990s. Despite extensive searches, the leader or coordinator of the project remains unidentified.
