Vels Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) Kicks Off Freshers' Inauguration Ceremony 2025
The Vels Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) recently hosted a vibrant Freshers' Inauguration Ceremony 2025, attracting an impressive attendance of 12,863, including students and their parents. The ceremony took place on the institute's lively campus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
VISTAS, a member of the prestigious Vels Group of Institutions, was conferred University status by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is known for its strong placement records and offers over 100+ undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs across diverse disciplines.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. R. Rangaraj Pandey, a renowned television journalist. In his keynote address, he emphasised key values for success such as accountability, adaptability, and commitment. He encouraged students to enhance their communication skills, overcome fear, cultivate curiosity, wake up early, and develop good general knowledge, as well as time management abilities.
Dr. Preethaa Ganesh, Vice President of the Vels Group of Institutions, also spoke about industry-relevant programs, active student clubs, and extensive placement assistance. She highlighted the importance of balancing academics with sports, cultural activities, and extracurricular engagement.
VISTAS is ranked in the 101-150 band in the NIRF 2024 Rankings, and its School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is notably ranked 47th nationwide. All programs offered by VISTAS are recognized by UGC, AICTE, NMC, INC, PCI, BCI, DGS, and NCTE, and it holds UGC 12(B) status. The institute is also accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade.
VISTAS offers 11 NBA-accredited programs and is a part of the Vels University, which was also conferred University status by the MHRD, Government of India. The university is committed to providing an industry-relevant curriculum and fostering a holistic educational experience for its students.
